The inspiration for the site’s name came from the city of Greenville, South Carolina. The name ranks #4 most popular US city name behind Washington, Springfield, and Franklin. Since there are 29 other Greenville, (fill in the blank), my hometown started using the hashtag-Yeah That Greenville-in order to stand out from the rest.

When I started thinking about a domain name, I wanted to include my first name (Courtney-not unique) and possibly my middle name (Ranae-unique spelling). Much to my chagrin, I discovered that there were many Courtney’s and even a Courtney Ranae.

After a few days of deliberation, it dawned on me that I should combine the the city hashtag (since I was born here and currently live here) and my first name. Voila-Yeah That Courtney was born! 

The tagline-Curate. Create. Celebrate.-came to me a week later.

Curate-One of the key ideas behind our house renovation project was the word intentional. We wanted our house to be a reflection of us and the items in it to be selected on purpose.

Create-I inherited my mom’s craft genes. Depending on the season of life, the time that I have to try DIY projects or design events ebbs and flows but I always come back to making things and taking hundreds of pictures.

Celebrate-Achievements and milestones should be celebrated. Designing a memorable event is a fun challenge.
