I entertain once a year outside of random family drop ins but I still like to style my dining room table. Maybe it’s the influence of my Great Aunt Wilhelmina who was known for her gleaming gold flatware or renting from an octogenarian when I lived in Washington, D.C. for a few years but I am partial to a set table.

My husband has put the kabosh on collecting many more vases or trinkets so I’m attempting to repurpose my collection of Pottery Barn votives, candlestick holders, vases and cut glass pieces.

Most tablescapes start with a trip to my favorite flower store, Roots, where I pore endlessly over the Flower Bar as I select each stem. Next, I photograph my seasonal finds in various spots before fashioning the final display. Here are a few of my favorites!
