This popular spot opened in Greenville, South Carolina, within the last year or so. When it first opened the lines were incredibly long and out of the building. One Friday, we decided we had plenty of time to wait so we made our way to Rocky’s. It has a decent-sized parking lot across the street which waa a plus. From the time we got in the line until we actually had our order was over an hour and 30 minutes. I don’t know that I would wait that long again for any food. We knew what we were getting into so we were committed until the bitter end (that time).

During the incredibly long wait, we reviewed all the options on the giant menu. I would recommend spending more time in line figuring out what level of heat you desire and which sides you would like because there are a lot of options.
I ordered a chicken breast. It was incredibly large. Overall the food was good and there were decent portion sizes. I keep going to these hot chicken places an ordering the mild version of the hot and being blown out of the water. I don’t like spicy hot food. I don’t know why I keep ordering “mild” hoping that the results will be different. (I think that’s the definition of insanity…) Anyway, the chicken was good I just should have opted for regular honey chicken. The sides were all solid options. The macaroni and cheese was quite good. It’s was more Kraft Mac and Cheese than baked homestyle but a variety of white cheeses made for a good dish of comfort food. The fried okra was excellent!

Drinks are self serve but the waiter does bring the food out to you I would recommend only doing carry out in the future. Like I said it was a Friday, we weren’t in a rush and we already had our minds made up that we had to wait. I don’t know that I would wait that long in the future but I would order some food for pick up.
