My name is Courtney Holloway Montgomery. I’m an African American woman with Southern roots who keeps it real and has opinions about (almost) everything. I grew up in the South but have lived in Florida, Hawaii, and Washington, D.C. Marrying my college friend, Chris, brought me back to my hometown of Greenville, South Carolina.

After teaching high school history in Hawaii and working for an educational non-profit on Capitol Hill, it was a big adjustment to move back to South Carolina but I was pleasantly surprised to find out how much downtown Greenville has changed for the better.

My hobbies include reading, shopping, decorating, eating, listening to sports talk shows (love The Herd with Colin Cowherd), and hosting a political blog and Facebook page, The Cerebral Conservative. My loves are Jesus, my husband, my family, collecting pretty things, taking pictures, and Kate Spade handbags.
