Roost: Lunch Review

Eating Our Way Through Greenville: Roost

I was encouraged by a co-worker to try Roost at the Hyatt in downtown Greenville for lunch. They used to have a great shrimp and grits dish but sadly they wanted to be different and tried a rabbit/grits and later a catfish/grits variation. Not a fan. I do like their pork chop dish however.

My co-worker said that that the $10 salad bar lunch was a good deal so one day we decided to check it out for a birthday celebration. I was not disappointed and I am not the type to order a salad generally unless I’m at Bullfeathers in DC.

The lunch deal includes an all you can eat salad bar, flat bread, and soup combination.

Pros
Variety of seating options (inside, terrace, inside Hyatt)
Modern decor and vibe
TV’s on terrace area with sports
Great sweet tea
 Friendly wait staff
Good value-salad bar, 2 soup options, and flatbread options (AYCE)
 No wait for service

Cons
None

Roost is a good restaurant and they stay open later than many other spots downtown. It is one of our Sunday night options. I’ll definitely be back.
