With a husband in law enforcement, I have a special affinity for that community. In my event coordinator role, I have planned criminal justice association banquets, memorial prayer breakfasts for fallen officers, and regional meetings of the FBI National Academy chapter.
I tend to go for a masculine, simple, patriotic look for police events. The candles evoke a remembrance of vows made and fallen officers. You can never have too many American flags when it comes to these designs. The Thin Blue Line theme is very popular but I like to use it sparingly for maximum impact.
My general rule of thumb for event decorations is get a general idea of what you want each table and the head table to look like, buy a ton of supplies from Hobby Lobby, and dedicate time to create your centerpieces. Uniformity and repetition are key to a cohesive look.
