Eating Our Way Through the USA: Stars Rooftop and Grill Room
For our last meal in Charleston, Chris picked this spot on King Street. It’s a we-put-the-napkin-in-your-lap type of place. Attentive wait staff, awesome saxophone music, romantic lighting = great ambiance.
We had the bacon tater tot appetizer. It was a satisfying and refined take on a tater tot. For the main entrees, Chris had a Kansas bone in ribeye accompanied by a vegetable medley.
I had the special-surf and turf with garlic mashed potatoes topped with shiitake mushrooms with a side of grilled asparagus. Everything was pretty much perfect. My steak could have been a little more pink but #firstworldproblem. Plus, the sweet tea was excellent so there’s that.
Note to self-the “special” was not a special price. If I make that mistake again, I might have to sell a kidney. Ha! Ha! Good thing we got a good deal on Priceline for the hotel.
