We both felt that the courtyard area needed a feature (besides the feature wall). Chris and I are still “discussing” who thought of an outdoor chandelier fixture. It was definitely my idea.
Chris likes to rummage through the Habitat for Humanity Restore. Basically, we are a Chip and Joanna (minus the kids, farm house, businesses, fame, etc.) when it comes to home reno. I have ideas and Chris makes it happen.
Chris scoped out a few options. We settled on a solid metal chandelier with dreadful fake metal candles.
Chris took the faux dripping candles off and cut the metal rods down. He figured out how to hang it under the canopy. There was a tiny hole poked through the ceiling but a little epoxy patched it.
My plan was to attach Pottery Barn mercury glass votive holders to the arms of the light fixture. Chris affixed Velcro dots to the bottom. We considered taper candles for a Beauty and the Beast vibe but dismissed it as a potential fire hazard.
The final result is below.
